This week, we focused on a wide range of refinements and adjustments across the platform. Several improvements directly impact the store, albums, exports, imports, and the display of important information throughout the system.
Store Improvements
Several adjustments were made to create an even more consistent shopping experience.
The shipping amount is now displayed more clearly in the cart, and certain product selection flows have been improved to better guide the purchasing experience.
Album Improvements
Subjects are now automatically sorted alphabetically by last name, making daily navigation much easier.
When a subject is not linked to any album, an album is now automatically created.
It is also no longer possible to delete an album that still contains images, helping prevent accidental mistakes.
Clearer Information Display
We improved several sections of the platform to make information easier to read and access.
File names are now displayed in more locations throughout the platform.
For photo labs, the batch display has also been improved with the batch number and the actual send time.
Faster & Smoother Exports
The export experience is now faster and more fluid.
Preview images inside photo exports now load more efficiently by using watermarked preview versions, and generating a new export is now simpler.
Performance Improvements
We also continued our work on overall platform performance.
Image processing during imports is now significantly faster thanks to a new library.
The import section now displays the number of images waiting to be processed.
Excel file imports are also smoother, especially when certain columns contain only numeric values.
Cybersecurity & Data Protection
At the same time, Mathieu attended the NorthSec 2026 conference in Montreal, one of the most important applied cybersecurity events in Canada.
For us, this type of event is essential. Smiley handles sensitive data, and we take data protection very seriously.
